We share lakes, waterways, mountain ranges, family ties, communities, trade, travel, music, culture, and generations of cooperation. Current Affairs: The Relationship Today

Canada and the United States are connected by far more than just the coast to coast border on the North American Continent. We share lakes, waterways, mountain ranges, family ties, communities, trade, travel, music, culture, and generations of cooperation. Not to mention our strategic economic partnerships in organizations like NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and CUSMA (Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement). The recent narrative between the current administrations threaten to upend one of the most important partnerships in the history of modern civilization.

However, it's the enduring relationship between Canadians and Americans that is the more important story here. Even though current governments and policies are an important chapter within the context of this relationship, we must not forget or erase generations of family ties, cultural exchange, shared sacrifice, and cooperation between two great nations.
